Obituary of Norbert R. Gallenberg

Norbert “Norby” Gallenberg was born to eternal life on Friday February 9, 2024. Norby passed away peacefully from natural causes, surrounded by his family at Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc, WI.
Norby was born June 8, 1938, in the town of Peck, Langlade County, WI to Raymond and Agnes (Schramke) Gallenberg; later the family settled in Waukesha. After attending Catholic Memorial H.S, he entered the workforce with B&M Auto. He continued his career with Milwaukee Road Railroad, Kenwood (Mueller) Construction, Generac and Envirex. On July 16, 1960, he married his loving wife Rickie (Wolfe) Gallenberg. Norby is fondly remembered by family and friends for his scientific and mechanical curiosity, playful sense of humor and voracious sweet tooth. He was always present in the moment when spending time with his family and friends, sipping coffee, or building bonfires. Norby was an avid collector who enjoyed creative repurposing and recycling long before it became a trend. He was an ardent observer of wildlife and a lover of nature who truly enjoyed the serenity of early morning sunrises.

Norby is survived by his brothers; Roland Gallenberg and Bernard (Barbara) Gallenberg; his children Raymond (Amy) Gallenberg, Rachella Gallenberg, Tina (Dennis Mclain) Mitchell, Robyn (Tom) Vande Leest and Valerie Schwartz; and his grandchildren Raymond, Nicholas (Amanda), Carly, Katy and Joey Gallenberg, Tim (April) Gallenberg, Ernest and Virginia Kidwell, Roxanne (Kory) Sukow, Kasi (Tom) Lange, Amber Bratten, Tami and Tyler (Denisse) Gardner; and his great grandchildren Alayna, Jack and Evan Gallenberg, Jaden and Dylan Gallenberg, Christopher, Emma, Emmet Sukow, Nathan Lange, Remmington Bratten and Braxton Gardner.
