Obituary of Charlotte A Maile

Charlotte A. Maile (nee Freyer) passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born on February 18, 1936, to her parents Robert and Olga Freyer (nee Splett). On August 4, 1956, Charlotte was united in marriage with the love of her life John J. Maile. They celebrated 64 years together.

Charlotte cherished spending time with her family and loved to sew and quilt. She was very active at church, including choir and the sewing circle. She worked at Grace’s Drapery Studio and as a teacher’s aide for a few years. She enjoyed her Red Hatters group luncheons.

 She leaves behind her loving children Pam (Art) Olson, Debby (Doug) Smith, and Jeff Maile, grandchildren; Jacob (Maggie) Olson, Jordan Olson, Shelby (Eloise) Smith, sisters; Virginia Borck, Darlene Kleinow and sister-in-law Kay Freyer, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John J Maile, parents Robert and Olga Freyer (nee Splett), sisters; Alvera (Bill) Box, Bernice (Jack) King, brother; Ellsworth (Kay) Freyer, and brothers-in-law Robert (Darlene) Kleinow, and Larry (Virginia) Borck.

A visitation for Charlotte will be held on Friday May 3, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the start of services at 12:00 p.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St, Waukesha, WI 53186. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
